CANTON, Mo. 鈥� 91直播 has announced Abagail Mooney (Silex, Mo., pictured on the right) and Jacob Richards (Wellsville, Kan., pictured below) as the Junior Marshals for the 2026 Commencement ceremony, set for Saturday, May 16. This honor is awarded to outstanding members of the junior class who exemplify academic excellence, leadership, and service to the campus community.

Mooney, an elementary education major, has distinguished herself through her academic achievements and campus involvement. She serves as a resident assistant, student tour guide, and is actively involved in Culver-Stockton Teachers Organization (CSTO) within the education department, while also competing as a member of both the women鈥檚 basketball and track and field teams.

鈥淚 chose Culver-Stockton because I loved the feeling I got when I arrived on campus and how everyone made me feel welcome when I visited,鈥� Mooney said. 鈥淭his opportunity means a lot to me because I am honored to be chosen by the College and gain knowledge through this experience.鈥�

Following graduation, Mooney plans to return to Lincoln County (Missouri) to pursue a career as an elementary teacher, with aspirations to also coach and remain close to her family.

Richards, a computer and data science and sport management double major, has also made a significant impact through his involvement across campus. A member of the football team, Richards is an NAIA Scholar-Athlete and contributes as a commentator for the Wildcat Network. He also leads the intramural sports program and works in the Lab.

鈥淚 chose Culver-Stockton because it allowed me to continue playing football while getting a quality education and being able to make an impact on campus,鈥� Richards said. 鈥淏eing a Junior Marshal means a lot to me. For my peers/mentors to select me as a representative for the Junior class means they saw me as a complete individual on and off the field, which means the world to me.鈥�

91直播鈥檚 2026 Commencement is set to start at 9:30 a.m. May 16 in the Charles Field House on C-SC鈥檚 Canton campus.

The marshals attend the planning sessions for Honors Day, Baccalaureate, and Commencement. They will help direct the seniors as they assemble for each event, and will lead the seniors in the procession and direct them to their seats.

Haley Beck is from Windsor, Illinois, and is majoring in psychology with a minor in criminal justice. Christian Logue is from Glen Carbon, IL, and is majoring in graphic design with a minor in History.

Honor鈥檚 Day Convocation will be held on May 7 in the Alexander Campbell Auditorium. Baccalaureate is on Friday, May 10, 5:30-6:30pm in Charles Field House. Elbe will address nearly 200 graduating 91直播 students who are receiving either undergraduate or graduate degrees. His speech titled 鈥淎chieving your Dreams鈥� will reflect on Elbe鈥檚 educational journey, leadership path, and lessons learned. As a long-time coach, Elbe hopes to inspire the audience with personal lessons and offer a challenge to achieve one鈥檚 dreams best.

During the ceremony, C-SC will award Elbe an Honorary Doctor of Education (honoris causa) to commend him for his years of service to the educational community. Elbe shared, 鈥淚t will be my privilege to address the Culver-Stockton graduates during this momentous occasion, and I could not be more humbled and honored to receive the Honorary Doctor of Education.鈥�
