CANTON, Mo. — Student journalists from 91ֱ earned multiple awards at the 2026 Missouri College Media Convention, held Saturday, April 11, at Missouri State University.

Competing in Division 3, C-SC students representing the “Wildcat Wire,” Culver-Stockton’s student-produced online newspaper, were recognized across a range of categories, including writing, photography, design, video, and digital media.

Audrey Randall (Canton, Mo.) received second place in Feature Writing for “Culver Student Turns Podcast into Profession.”

Diego Melendez (Carthage, Ill.) earned third place in Sports Photography for “Game Day on the Hill — Streaming Pregame Show Shines,” along with an honorable mention in Sports Photography for “Kyle Dixon celebrating and scoring a touchdown against William Penn.”

Desiree Hensiek (Troy, Ill.) placed third in the Information Graphic category for “Culver-Stockton’s Financial Responsibility Score Improves.”

Halle Jennex (North Vancouver, British Columbia) was recognized in multiple categories, earning first place in Sports Page for “Wildcat Wire Sports,” first place in Video for “Podcats Season 7, Episode 5, Caitlin Erickson,” and third place in the Website category.

Henry Appiah (Rotherham, England) received two honorable mentions in Editorial Writing for “From Swim Meet to Spring Break: The Billion Dollar Revolution of a College Tradition” and “International Players Often Adjust Faster to College Soccer in U.S.”

The Missouri College Media Convention brings together student journalists from colleges and universities across the state to compete, learn, and showcase their work.
