C-SC calls for project requests for the annual 鈥淓veryone Doing More鈥 /news/2023/c-sc-calls-for-project-requests-for-the-annual-everyone-doing-more/ Mon, 20 Mar 2023 13:19:48 +0000 /?p=21096 Incoming first-year C-SC students and faculty will complete the EDM projects as a part of the matriculation tradition. This event began in 2014 and aims to connect new students to the local community through servant leadership. Community projects can include landscaping, small paint projects, cleanup, or other manual labor that could be completed in one day. Project requests can be submitted at

A student planning committee is organizing this year鈥檚 EDM event as part of the 鈥淐ommunity Action鈥 course. Students have been divided into teams to provide a more comprehensive learning experience for the campus community. Groups include marketing, project management, and fundraising. A junior business student, Adriana Farrell, shared, 鈥淏eing part of the marketing committee has allowed me a different view of this event, and we are excited to welcome new students to campus with this annual event.鈥 Farrell said her peers find value in this course because they are taking a leading role in this event that is important to the College, the community, and the student experience.

During the August 19 event, over 300 students, new and returning, along with faculty and staff, will begin from the Alexander Campbell Auditorium to walk through campus and into the Canton community. C-SC students will serve the community during EDM at no labor cost to the organization or project requestor. Priority will be given to requests received by April 1, 2023.
