Colleges and universities in Missouri offering undergraduate majors in physical education, health, recreation, dance, exercise science, sport science, kinesiology or directly related fields are invited to identify someone as an outstanding future professional for recognition by MOSHAPE. The program provides an incentive for future professionals in Missouri colleges and universities to continue to strive for excellence in their professional preparation.

Bill Schneider, an assistant professor of physical education, also attended the convention virtually and nominated Wood for the award.
