Five new members were initiated into the 91直播 chapter of Phi Alpha Theta on March 3, and new officers were elected. Phi Alpha Theta is an American honor society for undergraduate and graduate students and professors of history.
Four published authors who also are 91直播 graduates will participate in the 22nd annual Young Writers Conference from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on March 25 on the 91直播 campus.
People who eat lunch or dinner at Tiramisu on Thursday, March 19 also will help 91直播 students. March 19 is C-SC’s third annual Day of Giving. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Student Scholarship Fund.
An eclectic group of six pre-teens vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime as the 91直播 theatre department will be presenting 鈥淭he 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee鈥 in March and April.

Larry D. Thompson 鈥67, who served as the U.S. Deputy Attorney General under President George W. Bush from 2001-03, will be the featured speaker for the annual Dr. John A. Sperry Jr. Endowed Chair of Humanities Lecture at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 5.
K.T. Seth and Lauren Paisley from 91直播 were among 98 collegiate students selected to participate in the 33rd annual Missouri Governor鈥檚 Student Leadership Forum on Faith and Values held Feb. 14-16 in Jefferson City, Mo.
To wrap up Black History Month events on the 91直播 campus, Johnnie Campbell will deliver his keynote lecture, 鈥淪peaking Truth to Power,鈥 at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 27 in the Merillat Chapel and Recital Hall.
The 91直播 Wind Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble Band Tour will visit schools and churches in central Illinois for three days starting Feb. 29. The tour will have three performances for the public.
